FAIRSTAINABILITY

Consumption? Well, consumer goods  not only serve the well-being of the those who wear them, but also of those who produce them. Consumers have a responsibility.

The certifications on all our brands and products are more than just a label – what they stand for are matters close to our hearts and the core DNA of our existence. It is about ensuring fair working conditions and wages, about protecting children and the environment, about the safety and dignity of people.

For us it goes beyond bare compliance with the established standards. We support less privileged people in building a livelihood – self-determined and sustainable in the true meaning of the word, meaning long lasting. We are a committed and reliable partner in good times as well as in bad times. Morale trumps margin: We buy all our products at premium prices.

Fairtrade

Fairtrade connects consumers, companies and manufacturer's organizations. The system behind the certifications is making an impact on trade and those who trade through better prices for small farmer's and decent working conditions on plantations in developing and emerging countries.

Climatepartner

We offset our carbon footprint which mainly comes through transporting the goods from Bangladesh or India through climate protection projects. Since we leave the biggest footprint so far in Bangladesh we thought it makes sense to financing clean cooking stoves through our partner www.climatepartner.com. These efficient stoves lead the smoke from a fireplace when cooking through a chimney and consume up to 50 percent less fuel. This saves them CO2 and also bring great benefits to families, such as lower spending on fuel and or wood and significantly fewer respiratory diseases. The whole story of the Bondhu Chula, the friendly ovens, is worth a read!
